    The Role: Equipment Engineer

    As an Equipment Engineer, you will work in a dynamic team environment to ensure safe working conditions, maintain reliable equipment, and drive continuous improvement. The Equipment Engineer supports a broad range of process and facilities equipment across three manufacturing areas. The engineer will work closely with the manufacturing team, production engineers, maintenance technicians and the quality team to sustain day-to-day operations and drive continuous improvement. This position will report to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.

    What You'll Do:
    • Maintaining reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, and costs.
    • Identifying and implementing all necessary LOTO and procedures to ensure safe repair and maintenance of a broad range of production equipment.
    • Developing innovative solutions to equipment performance issues within prescribed change control requirements.
    • Improving equipment capability and delivering the necessary equipment availability to support required production volumes while maintaining and improving quality standards.
    • Developing, documenting, and driving rigorous preventative maintenance procedures.
    • Maintaining accurate and reliable equipment performance records and metrics.
    • Identifying and ensuring spare parts and consumables are available as necessary.
    • Creating and maintaining accurate specifications and work instructions for equipment maintenance.
    • Developing effective OCAP procedures.
    • Training maintenance personnel.
    • Leading capital projects and ensuring projects are completed within budget and schedule while maintaining safety and quality.
    • Researching and installing new tool sets according to planned schedule to add capacity in a timely manner.
    • Applying experience and systematic approach to solve critical equipment issues.
    • Improving tool up-time availability and utilization efficiency.
    • Identifying and pursuing potential opportunities for hardware capability enhancement.
    • Driving defect reduction.
    • Leveraging internal and external resources to drive aggressive continuous improvement projects.
    What We Seek:
    • Education & Experience: The role of an Equipment Engineer requires at least a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 3 to 5 years of Equipment Engineer related experience or Equivalent Years of experience with proven exceptional results.
    • Technical:
      • Experience with AC and DC electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, compressed air and N2 systems and other equipment related systems.
      • Experience with sensor operation and troubleshooting.
      • Experience with air/hydraulic cylinder repair, diagnostics, and maintenance.
      • Demonstrated ability to develop documents such as work instructions, procedure manuals, and safety instructions.
    • Ability to write and present routine reports and technical information.
    • Flexibility in acceptance of assignments and schedules and ability to deal effectively with changes in priorities.
    • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and possess excellent follow up skills.
    • Good problem solving and communication skills as well as a willingness to learn.
    • The ability to troubleshoot complex problems and strong ownership in providing root cause fixes.
    • A team player who can multitask and thrive in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment.
    • Possess a willingness and ability to readily perform hands-on maintenance.
    Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
    • Ability to design and fabricate tooling and equipment in the manufacture of products.
    • Hands-on experience using various machine shop tools, processes, and equipment desired.
    • Previous experience in equipment maintenance or improvement.
