- Enterprise Data Architecture & Strategy
- Develop the enterprise data architecture roadmap aligned with organizational strategy, operational requirements, and modernization initiatives.
- Define data models, integration patterns, master data management approaches, and metadata strategies.
- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance data environments using Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Power BI, and supporting Azure services.
- Ensure architectural consistency, system interoperability, and appropriate data lifecycle controls across applications, platforms, and business functions.
- Data Warehouse Architecture & Implementation
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of a modern Data Warehouse and associated semantic models within Microsoft Fabric.
- Implement ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration logic, and data quality validation processes.
- Establish and enforce dimensional modeling, star schema design, normalization standards, and performance optimization techniques.
- Partner with BI teams to enable robust reporting, dashboards, and analytics, ensuring alignment to business requirements.
- Data Governance & Policy Development
- Develop and maintain enterprise Data Governance frameworks, policies, standards, and stewardship models.
- Define data classification schemes, retention rules, lineage tracking, and data quality standards.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure adherence to SOC 2, CCPA, GDPR, and organizational privacy/security requirements.
- Lead data governance committees and drive accountability for data stewardship at the departmental level.
- Data Integration, Quality, and Management
- Architect and oversee integration between ERP, CRM, Webstore, logistics, finance, and operational systems.
- Implement data quality measurement, monitoring, and remediation frameworks.
- Ensure data definitions, business rules, and transformation logic are standardized and documented.
- Support creation of enterprise glossaries and metadata repositories.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Engage executives, directors, and operational leaders to capture requirements, validate architecture decisions, and communicate impacts.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable data initiatives and implementation plans.
- Provide mentorship to data engineers, analysts, and technical staff; establish best practices and reusable patterns.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 6-12+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Power BI data modeling, and Fabric pipelines.
- Strong background in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), Data Warehouse design, and ETL/ELT development.
- Experience developing enterprise Data Governance policies, data standards, and stewardship models.
- Expertise in Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake Storage, SQL, Purview preferred).
- Deep understanding of data security, privacy, access controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in distribution, supply chain, retail, telecommunications, or high-volume transactional environments.
- Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST-aligned data controls.
- Experience implementing semantic lakes, data products, or federated data architectures.
- Prior experience in enterprise transformation initiatives (ERP modernization, CRM standardization, eCommerce modernization).
