    ECS is seeking a TS-cleared Systems Administrator 2 in Huntsville, AL. We offer the chance to support the world's finest law enforcement organization and help the people that keep us safe. This position performs activities associated with implementation, integration and support of computer systems in mission critical response operations environment.

    The Systems Administrator 2 (SYS2) role operates on a shift-based schedule to ensure coverage for our 24/7 operation, which includes weekends and holidays. This SYS2 Requisition is for the (Swing Shift), however, candidates must demonstrate flexibility in their availability for other shifts. Training and additional tasks may be assigned or required on alternate shifts. Please note that shift schedules are subject to change as necessary to accommodate operational requirements determined by management.

    Swing Shift Hours of Operations:

    Tuesday-Saturday, EST

    Sunday-Thursday, EST

    Responsibilities:

    • Install and configure software and hardware.
    • Perform active directory functions to include password resets, account unlocks, etc.
    • Assist with mobile devices issues.
    • Diagnose and triage issues related to Microsoft applications.
    • Manage network servers and technology tools.
    • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
    • Troubleshoot issues and outages.
    • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
    • Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
    • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
    Required Skills:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and / or technical certifications.
    • 2 years of demonstrated performance in related Systems Administrative tools.
    • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
    • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
    • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language.
    • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
    • Problem analysis and problem solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy within documentation.
    • Prior experience providing technical support in a business environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Basic understanding of IT Service Management processes.
    • Must have a current Top-Secret Clearance with the capability of obtaining SCI / CI-Poly if needed to meet contract requirements.
    • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment.
    Desired Skills:
    • Energized when faced with complex technical challenges and diligently work to identify creative solutions.
    • Ability to perform high quality work, both independently and with a team, in a fast-moving environment.
    • Ability to plan and prioritize tasks to successfully meet/exceed customer expectations.
    • 3 years of experience working with government customer.
    • CompTIA Security or higher certifications.
