    Summary



    As a Gas Processing Systems subject matter expert in the Cryogenics and Fluids Branch you will provide engineering expertise in system design/analysis/build/test/fly activities for cryogenic systems, gas processing systems and microgravity fluid systems. The focus is on spaceflight systems operating at temperatures lower than 123 K. You will also perform thermophysical properties measurements and provide engineering services for inert fluid applications, vacuum systems, and Knudsen flow systems.



    Duties

    • Collaborate with other systems teams to develop engineering requirements for Gas Processing System (GPS) systems to meet spaceflight project's mission goals.
    • Perform multiple functions on a Gas Processing System mission such as planning and documentation, research, design, development, test and evaluation, cost analyses, and program and project management.
    • Conduct regular meetings with Gas Processing System engineering team and project management as well as with branch management.
    • Develop analytical models and lead team to analyze models to predict behavior and size components to meet requirements.
    • Develop and lead engineering team to conduct thermal vacuum experiments, testing, and validation of Gas Processing System components and designs.
    • Develop budget and schedule for Gas Processing System and components.
    • Participate in and/or lead in engineering design reviews for Gas Processing System and supporting sub-systems/components as well as for other space flight missions requiring cryogenic systems.
