The Silkscreen Technician is responsible for setting up operating and maintaining screen printing equipment to produce high quality printed graphics on various substratesResponsibilities
- Review job orders artwork files client specifications colors size placement substrate.
- Select stretch appropriate mesh count each job register screens accurately using registration marks alignment tools.
- Mix custom inks match client-specified colors maintaining consistent viscosity store inks solvents cleaning chemicals safely label them per OSHA/site standards track inventory screens squeegees substrates consumables request re-orders needed load substrates press manual adjust squeegee pressure angle speed optimal ink transfer perform multi-color prints precise registration pass conduct test prints make adjustments obtain approval full run inspect prints color fidelity registration ink density defects smudges streaks ghosting cure dry prints ovens air-dry methods required clean screens squeegees press components after each job follow all safety protocols PPE ventilation proper chemical handling maintain clean organized work area dispose waste environmental regulations have hands-on screen-printing experience commercial apparel fine-art familiarity manual screen-printing presses preferred able stand long periods lift lb perform repetitive motions good hand-eye coordination visual acuity detailed inspection known sensitivity allergy thinners solvents epoxy-ink fumes basic proficiency graphic-design file formats RIP software advantageous MS office suite Outlook Word Excel required understanding OSHA regulations MSDS PPE usage high school diploma GED required associate degree certification graphic arts printing technology field plus.
