Job summary
Designing physical aspects of substations including substation layouts foundation layouts grounding layouts conduit layouts control building layout sections elevations electrical bus design three line connection diagrams facility rating diagrams etc specify order approve drawings non stock materials inventory stock materials shop fabricated materials substation design packages.
Responsibilities
- Make safety our number one priority using a safety first mentality leading by example prepare high quality design packages needed construct new modify existing substations using cad based modeling tools following southern company design standards transmit drawing packages supporting specifications into scst vault according guidance physical substation transmittal packages manual coordinate communicate other design disciplines associated substation physical design project interact manufacturers vendors southern company committee members resolve equipment material issues provide support substation construction field services project management transmission maintenance perform site visits projects pre construction meetings during construction postconstruction handling multiple tasks simultaneously setting priorities effective time management organizational skills achieve project team goals serve storm restoration team when requested after storm events predominantly but not limited southern companyservice territory.
