+Job details description greets registers patients in prompt pleasant courteous manner verifies all necessary information demographics insurance patient medical record file updates profiles patients maintains proper order filing medical histories labs correspondence other information patient medical records following departmental guidelines maintains current appointment schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly appointments confirmed posts cancelled re-scheduled or no show appointments collects co-pays small balances balancing drawer daily responsible for patient referrals must be knowledgeable EMR Athena answers telephone screens calls provides information directed assisting staff as directed attends meetings required skills/abilities demonstrate current competencies applicable position typing data entry knowledge clinic/medical practice procedures related medical operations knowledge phone system copiers fax machines knowledge customer services principles techniques skilled customer service pleasant courteous demeanor dealing callers effectively serve clinic liaison respond stressful emergency situations calm effective manner work cooperatively member office staff team lift 30-50 pounds mental physical requirements mostly sedentary standing walking reaching daily repetitive data entry periodic stress handling many calls patient requests qualifications education high school diploma equivalent
