    SUMMARY

    Manages and oversees the development, support and maintenance of the Authority's data center operations. Oversees critical systems, servers, software/hardware products and equipment to ensure proper functionality across data center infrastructures. Leads technology efforts to drive business performance through automation and process improvements. Reviews and analyzes environmental factors that may impact system performance. Ensures that problematic technical issues are quickly identified and resolved. Develops and implements strategies for system redundancy, fault tolerance and data backup/disaster recovery Responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance for data center systems and equipment. Maintains and evaluates system/data utilization, performance, scalability and reliability in efforts to improve the quality and availability of data services. Stays up-to-date on the latest technology, industry trends and technologies ensuring that best practices are incorporated into business processes. Oversees capital and operating technology projects and activities. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that business needs are continually supported through technology efforts.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manages the day-to-day operations of the data management center. Oversees critical systems, servers, software/hardware products and equipment to ensure proper functionality across data center infrastructures.
    • Provides the oversight for the Authority's data center infrastructure to include but not limited to server platforms (cloud-based, visual and/or physical), storage, CCTV, Active Directory, patch management, decommissioning, domains, DNS, wired/wireless networking, backups, access control, etc.
    • Maintains and evaluates system/data utilization, performance, scalability and reliability in efforts to improve the quality and availability of data infrastructure services.
    • Oversees capital and operating technology projects and activities related to systems performance.
    • Responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance for data center systems and equipment.
    • Reviews and analyzes environmental factors that may impact system performance. Ensures that problematic technical issues are quickly identified and resolved.
    • Develops and implements strategies for system redundancy, fault tolerance and data backup/disaster recovery.
    • Stays up to date on the latest technology, industry trends and technologies ensuring that best practices are incorporated into current and future business processes.
    • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that business needs are continually supported through technology efforts.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Manages and directs a staff of information technology systems analysts, business analysts, and network engineers responsible for multiple systems running on multiple platforms, and utilizing different operating systems, programming languages, and database management systems. Supports the computer-based applications systems requirements of the assigned branch. Primary duty is the management of a branch of the Authority. Interviews, hires and develops subordinate personnel; sets standards and evaluates performance of employees; provides feedback, coaches, disciplines and discharges as appropriate.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Business Administration and a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in server administration, computer systems/products and maintaining data/communications networks. Four years of lead or supervisory experience required. Should possess extensive knowledge of concepts, standards, products and techniques appropriate to communication systems. Should have knowledge of management programs, strategic planning and project management concepts and techniques. In lieu of degree experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
