    Description

    Responsible for Operations Network Support - script development, device configuration management, system administration, hardware support, software support, maintenance, security, troubleshooting. Responsible for solution design, development, integration and enhancements to meet the business needs and project requirements. Also, responsible for documenting and developing operational procedures and provides end user support.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    •Monitors network engineering performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

    •Configures and installs various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)

    •Performs moderately complex network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations

    •Monitors performance and ensure system availability and reliability

    •Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning

    •Provide Level-2 support and troubleshooting to resolve moderately complex issues

    •Works within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

    •Selects and implements security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team using latitude for independent judgement

    •Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

    Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

    •Demonstrated Associate level experience with Network Engineering

    •Experience with networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)

    •Solid knowledge of OSI or TCP/IP models

    •Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools

    •Experience with cloud environments

    •Experience as a Network Administrator in a field supporting critical systems and providing technical solutions

    Preferred Qualifications

    •Relative experience in supporting utility construction & maintenance

    •Associate level networking certification (CCNA, F5 CA, VmWare VCA)

    Minimum Education

    •Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Computer Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field from an accredited university. OR Relative experience in system management for network engineering.
