Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring prior travel nursing experience and proficiency in arrhythmia and cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital telemetry unit with a 32-bed capacity
• Nursing care for adult to geriatric patients, including post-cardiac catheterization and overflow IMCU cases
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6 on night shifts (3x12, 19:00-07:00)
• Care for cardiac, renal, pulmonary, vascular, surgical, and DKA patients, with occasional ortho and CVA patient overflow
• Cardiac drip and hemodynamic monitoring experience required, including management post-PCI
• Uses Epic (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR systems
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice is required as needed
• Call is rare and requires a 2-hour response time
• Must work every other weekend
• Required to work assigned major holidays according to facility guidelines
• Duties include management of cardiac, renal, pulmonary, and surgical cases under telemetry and basic Med/Surg responsibilities
• Expected to wear navy blue scrubs
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off; no time off allowed during the first week of assignment
• Full compliance is required to start on time; non-compliance will result in a start date delay
• Major holidays that may be worked include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Return travelers must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year to be eligible
• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit
• No blocked scheduling is allowed
• Locals are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry nursing experience
• Prior travel nurse experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with arrhythmia management and cardiac drips including amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, heparin, argatroban, aggrastat, bumex, and lasix
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and care of post-PCI cardiac patients
• Preferred experience with Epic EMR
• Two supervisory references (manager or above) required for consideration
