Job Description:

PURPOSE:

To prepare patterns for assembly and soluble cores for pattern molding, as well as maintain dimensional conformity, inspect modifications, and repair wax patterns and soluble cores.

Essential Job Functions:

• Pattern Finishing
  • Reads tech cards and engineering instructions
  • Assembles wax components into visually and dimensionally acceptable patterns
  • Modifies patterns using various hand tools and wax materials
  • Inspects modifications with special gauges
  • Inserts ceramic cores in wax patterns (occasionally)
• Repair/Restoration
  • Replaces broken features by wax welding fragments
  • Fills voids and reforms damaged contours with stock wax
• Cleaning
  • Removes flash and other surface positives
  • Fills or patches negatives using various tools and materials
  • Completes dimensional integrity restoration
• Serialization
  • Identifies patterns with specified serial pads and numbers
• Safety
  • Adheres to safety rules
  • Safely operates equipment and tools
  • Identifies and reports safety problems

PPE Requirements:

• Safety Glasses and Steel Toe Shoes - at all times
• Gloves, Long sleeves, Goggles, and Mask - optional for soluble cleaning

Responsible for maintaining accurate records, training personnel, and performing other assigned tasks.

Training:

Training provided on the job.

Entry Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience as a Wax Cleaner or Wax Assembler "C" OR equivalent combination of experience and training
• Working knowledge of cleaning techniques, methods, and tools
• Ability to follow instructions and good manual dexterity
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and work in varied conditions
