    Role: Sourcing Manager IV

    Location: Santa Clara, CA - Hybrid

    Duration: 3 Months

    Pay Rate: $110/hr. On W2

    Summary:

    The client is seeking a Global Sourcing & Supply Manager (GSSM) to assist with strategic planning, long-term deal structuring, and negotiations. This position requires the ability to work with procurement, engineering, finance, and legal teams and also third parties such as foundries and suppliers. The position requires strong quantitative and analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. The role is for procurement of data services. It means a collection of data for Maps and annotation of data such as images, videos, audio, and translation of content into several language pairs. Suppliers quote on labor rate and expected labor effort per task. The Global Sourcing & Supply Manager is positioned at the interface between the Clients product teams and the industries that supply core technologies. We are responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies as well as recommending product innovations based on improving technology.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The role is dynamic and one often has to wear multiple hats: focusing on the big picture roadmap one moment and the minute details the next.

    Here are some highlights of the role:

    Manage procurement of data services. Procure collection of data for Maps and annotation of data such as images, videos, audio, and translation of content into several language pairs.

    Develop a nuanced understanding of the commodity landscape to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces. Identify changes in buyer and supplier power and use industry dynamics to the Clients advantage.

    Perform supplier financial research, spend analysis, and ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic procurement deals

    Effectively work with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing. Understand the trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality to strike agreements that meet the Clients performance criteria and secure long-term supply continuity.

    Collaborate across the Client organization to ensure business objectives are met. Includes the ability to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and to actively identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.

    Optimize supply chain performance through cost and capacity scenario analysis and benchmarking. Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs and market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence the Clients future product roadmap and sourcing decisions.

    Provide overall program management support and contribute to the ongoing development of processes, templates, escalation procedures, and reporting.

    Qualifications:

    BA/BS degree plus 5+ years of work experience, Masters degree or MBA preferred.

    A tenacity, passion, and demonstrated skill in negotiations.

    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

    Superb communication and interpersonal skills.

    Can build, grow, and develop key cross-functional relationships to be able to influence and drive projects.

    Experience in supplier management and operations and the ability to solve complex supply chain issues are a plus.

    End-to-end ownership of contract negotiations for both commercial and legal aspects is a plus.

    Direct experience in long-term capacity planning is a plus.

    Interest in technology.

    Ability to make quick decisions and solve complex problems with 80% information.

    Willingness to travel internationally up to 30%.

    Can operate independently.
