    DESCRIPTION:

    The Quality Assurance Laboratory Coordinator position plays an integral role in the daily operations of the Quality Assurance Department, supporting both internal customers within the cross-functional plant team, and external stakeholders outside of the plant. This person shall jointly support both the plant Quality Assurance staff, as well as daily plant processing and production.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collect and prepare daily, small-ingredient lab weigh-ups of sensitive ingredients and colors to support plant production
    • Maintain FEFO (First Expiring First Out) rotation of materials
    • Record lot traceability information to track material usage
    • Conduct routine cycle counting of assigned materials and escalate any material shortages
    • Collect ingredient samples for quality testing and interplant transfers
    • Prepare and ship product samples for customers and external stakeholders
    • Monitor inventory of laboratory materials and office supplies and submit orders for additional supplies, as necessary
    • Receive in and route daily shipments of product samples and QA supplies
    • Conduct other duties, as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • AS in science-related field, and/or commensurate experience in a manufacturing laboratory setting preferred
    • Previous experience in a food manufacturing setting preferred
    • Strong ability to work independently to accomplish a dynamic set of tasks with minimal supervision
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to product formulation procedures
    • Effective time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to work and contribute as part of a team
    • Flexibility and dependability to assume the responsibilities of a QA Analyst, as needed to maintain appropriate coverage and support plant operations
