About Harmony House
Harmony House provides shelter, advocacy, and education to domestic violence survivors. In addition to our emergency shelter, prevention education, and outreach programs, Harmony House partners with the Springfield and Republic Police Departments and the Greene County Family Justice Center to support domestic violence victims as early as possible in multiple locations. We believe robust, wrap-around support services have the most impact on victims long-term, helping them to break the cycle of domestic violence for themselves and their families.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Development Coordinator reports directly to the Development Director and is responsible for providing assistance to all special event fundraising for the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Development Coordinator is responsible to assist the Development Director in the following:
· All aspects of planning and implementation for the organization's fundraising events, including: the Purple Party, the Golden Hour Gala, and iCare.
· Providing staff support to The Halloween Hustle 5K, a third party event managed by City Utilities staff.
· Providing staff support as needed and as feasible to other third party events throughout the year.
· Helping to identify, cultivate and recruit new volunteers to hold key positions on the Purple Party, Golden Hour Gala, and iCare committees.
· Developing the annual sponsorship opportunities packet and securing sponsorship funds for Harmony House fundraising events as identified and needed.
· Providing staff leadership to all special event committees and ensuring that committee Chairs are prepared to hold productive committee meetings.
· Responsibility of cultivating relationships for a determined amount of major donor prospects.
· Helping to manage and grow the Change Makers monthly giving program.
· Other areas of development as requested by the Development Director.
· All other duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, public administration, business administration, social work or related field preferred.
1 to 2 years previous development experience preferred, with emphasis on special event management a plus. Experience working in deadline-driven environment.

Physical Requirements:
· Performs bending, squatting, sorting, kneeling, and reaching to ground level and overhead as required for tasks such as events.
· Ability to lift, grasp, carry, push, or pull up to 15 pounds.
· Ability to climb stairs while carrying objects up to 10 pounds in weight.
· Must be able to hold and grip objects.
· May be subject to sitting for long periods of time.
· Visual ability sufficient to operate a computer.
· Hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person and by telephone.
· Regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands/fingers/arms to perform repetitive movements.
· Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, hand eye coordination and ability to focus.
· Must be able to constantly move safely inside and outside of the building.
· Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information / ideas and respond quickly to sounds.

Other:
MUST have a current / valid driver's license and current / valid motor vehicle liability insurance. Harmony House does NOT provide insurance coverage for the employee's liability while using personal autos on agency business.
MUST pass criminal background checks.
MUST pass a 5 panel drug test which includes marijuana.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58, $62,000.00 per year
