    Description

    VCA California Veterinary Specialists here in Ontario is the largest 24 hours Emergency and Specialty hospital in the Inland Empire.

    For the past decade, we have provided exceptional veterinary service and patient care.

    We take pride in what we do and are looking for a motivated individual who is willing to work with a strong team in a fast paced environment.

    Our Internal Medicine Department has a full-time opportunity available for an experienced credentialed veterinary technician (RVT). We have 2 full-time Internists with dedicated state-of-the-art Carl Storz equipment and department Coordinator.

    We are looking for someone to join our team who is proficient with the following skills:


    Strong client communication skills are a must: technicians obtain histories, present treatment plans, review discharge instructions and medications, and provide client education on more complex disease processes treated by Internal Medicine.

    Strong patient restraint and handling skills.

    Monitor and perform treatments for patients requiring intensive management, recognize significant changes in the patient's condition, and notify the Doctor.

    Run in-house lab samples and handle submissions to outside laboratories.
    Experienced with venipuncture and IV catheter placement
    Anesthetic induction (RVTs) and monitoring of sensitive and potentially critically ill patients for advanced diagnostic procedures (CT, endoscopy, bone marrow aspirates, joint taps, and more)
    Experience with specialized equipment care and use, and a willingness to learn new skills.
    Assist the Doctor with ongoing dynamics of a specific case, including call backs, prescription handling, medical records, etc.

    This position is full-time Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday. 4/10 hour shifts

    Compensation:
    $24 -$27/ hour Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
