About the job Cyber Security Engineer (W2 Position - Hybrid)Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to play a vital role in the day-to-day operations and enhancement of the organization's security infrastructure.
This position involves collaboration with team members to safeguard sensitive customer data, secure company assets, and ensure adherence to industry standards.
The successful candidate will contribute significantly to maintaining and bolstering the security posture of critical infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and oversee security measures for both structured and unstructured data; this includes encryption, access controls, authentication, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), and more.
Manage and monitor audit trails to oversee data access and modifications.
Implement and consult on encryption technologies with IT partners to protect data at rest and in transit.
Ensure the company meets data security regulations and industry standards, such as PCI, NIST.Perform regular security assessments and audits to find and fix security vulnerabilities.
Translate security and technical requirements from IT and other business units.Develop strategies for detection and prevention by planning and documenting requirements.
Enhance data and access management solutions to guard against evolving cybersecurity threats.
Monitor and report key security metrics.
Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technology advancements.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a data security role.
In-depth knowledge of data/database security principles, encryption techniques, access controls, and DLP solutions.
Experience with cloud security practices (e.g., AWS, Azure, O365, Google).Self-motivated with the ability to independently carry projects to completion.
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Effective teamwork capabilities.
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CIAM, etc.) are a plus.
