    Overview

    We are seeking a full-time

    Technical Lead Aviation Systems Engineer

    in our office in Olathe, KS to develop innovative solutions that delight our customers across aviation market segments.

    Working in close collaboration with Garmin Aviation leadership, you will apply your business and technical skills to create superior systems, products, and lead cross-functional teams to bring these to market.

    Essential Functions
    Lead development of complex systems, products, and services
    Perform technical market research on emerging technologies and competitive avionics solutions
    Define and maintain system architectures and requirements
    Understand and communicate customer expectations across aviation markets
    Mature product/feature concepts and manage roadmaps through periodic reviews with leadership
    Plan and execute integration testing to validate user experience and verify system requirements
    Proactively improve processes, tools, and procedures
    Exemplify Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactivley work to improve Garmin's image and culture
    Basic Qualifications
    Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field


    AND
    a minimum of 9 years relevant experience


    OR
    an equivalent combination of education and experience
    Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)

    Demonstrated expert knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas:
    Systems Integration, System Safety, System Requirements, System Security
    Demonstrated problem solving ability
    Desired Qualifications
    Master's Degree in an Engineering field
    Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
    Demonstrated passion for and involvement in the aviation community
    Operational knowledge of Garmin or competitive avionics
