Description
Quality Inspector Role
As a Quality Inspector at Kaman, you will work under the general direction of Quality Management with minimal supervision. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dimensional and visual inspections of complex in-process and completed machines, cast, molded, and fabricated parts.
You will frequently work to tolerances of .0001 or more using complex inspection equipment such as tool maker's microscopes, coordinate measuring machines, rotary tables, and sine plates. You must interpret engineering drawings specifications and other approved work documents for characteristics like functional testing dimensional configuration hardness surface roughness visual appearance and completion of required operations.
Sometimes you may be asked inspect templates jigs fixtures gauges report any discrepancies conditions that could result in defective products communicate non-conforming issues product quality assurance engineers obtain corrective action participate concurrent customer inspector activities plot measurements control charts histograms use company specified sampling plans assist process improvements eliminating reducing defects contribute formulate reporting recommendations improve material fabrication processes input team efforts create positive change environment maintain certification documents track inventory updates support overall business success goals objectives fulfillment true capacity potential develop yourself professionally delivering higher level skills service engagement consistently positively impacts customers stakeholders throughout entire organization
