    SEASONAL CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

    (3 VACANCIES)

    HOURLY: $15.00 per hour


    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:


    Under supervision of the County Park Ranger and Park Director. Responsible for patrolling Cameron County Public Beaches conducting county property inspections; enforce park policies/rules and regulations; and county ordinances. Responsible for issuing citations to violators for breaking any county and state policies/rules/regulations and/or ordinances. Perform related duties as assigned and required. Weekday, Weekend, and Holiday work and shift work scheduled will be required along with other duties as assigned. Ability to negotiate, perform tasks without supervision and make quick decisions.


    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


    High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and maintain an acceptable driving record. Have ability to work efficiently with the public and communicate, read, write in both English and Spanish. Ability to operate and drive a Utility Vehicle (4X4 ATV). Must have the ability to follow written and oral instruction and work in a mature, professional and outdoor setting.


    LICENSES AND / OR CERTIFICATIONS:


    Valid State of Texas Driver's License


    Physical Demands:


    Physical requirements may include lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs. Subject to handling, sitting, walking, standing, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential job functions.


    Working Condition:


    On special emergencies or occasional projects may require working in other county parks as assigned. Working conditions are primarily outdoors. Will be required to drive county-owned vehicles and other equipment as needed. Weekend, Holiday, and evening work required.


    This is not a Civil Service covered position.
