    The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Director of Administration, the Business Analyst will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows. They will translate these requirements into functional specifications for technology teams or vendors and work closely with project managers, developers, and testers to ensure successful project delivery. The Business Analyst will also be involved in identifying areas for process improvement and recommending solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, goals, and challenges. Skillfully gather, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows. Translate these findings into clear and thorough functional specifications for effective communication with technical and other teams as needed.
    • Collaborate with project teams to create creative and practical solutions for business challenges, making sure they align with the organization's strategic goals and technological capabilities.
    • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and presenting findings, recommendations, and project updates to diverse audiences.
    • Create detailed documentation covering business requirements, process flows, use cases, and user stories. Keep project documentation accurate and up-to-date throughout the entire project lifecycle.
    • Partner with project managers to outline project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Contribute to project planning, estimation, and resource allocation. Keep an eye on project progress, addressing potential risks or deviations from the plan, and advocate for the business needs of key stakeholders.
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancement, recommend improvements, and actively contribute to their successful implementation.
    • Participate in testing to make sure implemented solutions meet requirements and uphold high-quality standards.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent education and experience.
    • Proficient in the Salesforce platform with a solid understanding of its capabilities and functionalities.
    • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of project management experience, with expertise in leveraging agile, and waterfall methodologies.
    • Proficiency in requirement-gathering techniques, process modeling, and documentation.
    • Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, negotiate effectively, listen actively, mitigate conflict, build alliances, and work towards achieving desired results.
    • Demonstrated success in a customer service environment is essential. The candidate must thrive in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues at all levels independently and in partnership across the University.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Word), Google Suite applications, and project management tools such as Salesforce PMT, or JIRA is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Certification in Business Analysis (e.g.: Salesforce Business Analyst, CBAP, CCBA) is preferred but not required.
