The Department of Cytology is currently searching for an experienced Cytotechnologist to be a part of our full-time Day Shift.

The ideal candidate will read slides for Cytology, FISH. Prepare diagnostic medical report including image documentation, Complete QA, QC documentation on a daily basis.


Position Summary:
Monitor working reagents, buffers, solutions and probes.
Analyze FISH tests using both manual and automated procedures.
Proper documentation and archivingIn rare occasions help in cyto prep labWork up diagnostic medical reports.
Monitor specimen adequacy, hybridization quality and troubleshooting.
Documentation of all maintenance logs as neededKnowledgeable of all policies and procedures for all relevant testing events.
Proper communication with laboratory personnel and pathologists.
Additional tasks/projects upon request.


Position Requirements:
New York State Cytotechnologist.

Minimum 1 year of FISH experience:
Solid tumor and Hematologic FISH (processing and analysis)
