    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

    • Prepare and issue purchase/ job orders for production materials, floor stock items and other necessary purchases/ planning to support business operations according to customer requirements, quality standards or engineering bill of materials.
    • Complete required paperwork for purchasing/ planning materials or supplies, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained before procurement/ planning.
    • Enter purchase/ job orders data and maintain MRP database to ensure accurate inventory records.
    • Utilize approved vendors for high volume items to achieve cost-saving targets for assigned commodities and materials.
    • Coordinate deliveries and requirements with vendors, as well as monitor and assess vendor performance.
    • Manage commodity and material purchase price discrepancies.
    • Keep purchasing/ scheduling files and materials organized and up to date.
    • Update engineering change order files and inform vendors of any alterations to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Create and analyze reports related to assigned commodities and materials.
    • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, vendors, and other departments to resolve issues.
    • Communicate with vendors to gather product or service details such as pricing, availability, or delivery schedules.
    • Review and negotiate vendor proposals and agreements within budgetary constraints and authority scope.
    • Participate in supplier/vendor visits with the quality department and operations management to assess new sources and aid in addressing production, design, quality, and delivery challenges.

    Key Skills and Competencies:

    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment procuring/ planning materials.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook. Quick to adapt to new software.
    • Ability to manage and execute multiple projects concurrently, work independently, plan effectively, and work with minimal supervision.
    • Previous experience with MRP software.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Effective planning, organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
