    Job Title:
    Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

    Reports To:
    Dr. Brian Niskanen

    We are hiring a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to treat patients in East Central Minnesota. Welia Health is a small, rural health care organization with a critical access hospital and 3 clinics.

    The PMHNP will be working with an integrated behavioral health specialty care team of APC, nursing staff, LICSW, and primary care.

    • Schedule is built within Monday-Friday 8am5pm
    • Outpatient practice
    • Adult population, but having pediatric training/experience would be ideal
    • Prefer full time, but part time may be considered

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Examines, diagnoses and treats clients (and families as appropriate) who are referred for psychiatric services
    • Provides ongoing psychiatric care for patients and/or makes appropriate disposition decisions
    • Develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs and goals
    • Utilize various therapeutic modalities to enhance client outcomes
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
    • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to utilize evidenced based care
    Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients
    • Empathy and compassion to provide a supportive therapeutic environment
    • Knowledge of special education principles and techniques
    • Familiarity with coding systems for accurate documentation and billing purposes
    • Ability to collect and analyze data to evaluate treatment effectiveness
    • Proficiency in psychiatric prescribing and psychotherapy sessions using evidencebased practices
    Education and/or Experience

    • State licensure as either an Adult or Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
    • Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited institution that followed a specialty track in Mental Health and is certified by a professional nursing organization to exercise advanced nursing competencies, including (a) mental health promotion and (b) the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
