    Seeking a Burn Center PCT to join our team and serve some of the highest acuity patients in Illinois. The Burn Center at Loyola University Medical Center provides the utmost in revolutionary Burn Care. The Center is comprised of a 10 bed Burn Intensive Care Unit and a 12 bed Burn Stepdown Unit. The Burn Center is verified by the American Burn Association, in addition to being the current State Burn Coordinating Center. Our Burn Center PCTs work with innovative technology, a nationally renowned physician team, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the medical center and region.     Patient Care Tech does require an active CNA through the state of Illinois and an active CPR/BLS card. This is a night shift position on our Burn Unit.

    Performs a variety of direct patient care procedures to assist the unit manager, professional staff and physicians in providing patient care focused on the needs of the patient.

    GENERAL PATIENT CARE - Meets the comfort and hygiene needs of the patient by providing care services such as bathing, oral hygiene procedures, hair care, bed pan/urinal use, skin care and garment, linen and bedding changes. TECHNICAL CARE - Assists with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures, changes dressings, performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation,obtains wound and throat cultures. EQUIPMENT - Assists physician and professional staff in equipment supply and set up. TRANSPORT - Assists with ambulating patients with assistive devices such as crutches and with transfer/transport procedures. COMMUNICATION - Performs required documentation and communicates in a competent and effective manner to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements. QUALITY IMPROVEMENT - Utilizes time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes. Infant and Patient Security - participates in unit specific security and safety activities.

    Requirements: High school diploma (preferred), CNA, and CPR/BLS certification
