    The role:
    We are hiring for an

    IT Project Manager

    in our IT Project and Portfolio Management Office.

    In this role, you will be a senior level contributor leading various strategic projects and initiatives that align directly to the strategic goals of the agency.

    You will also independently provide portfolio reporting and project guidance through the portfolio management function and assist managers from time to time in strategic planning.

    A day in the life:
    Managing multiple concurrent information technology projects from initiation through closure.

    Developing detailed project schedules decomposed into sequenced critical path activities with predecessors/successors, resources and duration.

    Authoring project management deliverables such as charter, scope, risk/issue logs, project management plan, etc.

    Tracking and monitoring team member assigned tasks and progress.

    Managing project's risks and issues by executing mitigation response actions.

    Ensuring project is following oversight and defined process and procedures.

    Providing verbal and written project status reports to steering committees and leadership.

    Perform contract management duties such as writing statement of work and reviewing invoices for accuracy.

    Manage project scope, schedule or budget changes by obtaining approval using change management procedures.

    Review team member and contractor resource deliverables to ensure a quality product is produced.

    Work in an office environment with hybrid work options available.

    Comprehensive and equitable base salary offer within the listed range based on your experience, skills and education. The salary range listed is the non- PERS

    participating rate.

    Minimum qualifications:


    Six (6) years of information systems experience managing projects at the advanced level for multiple medium to large-sized projects or systems.

    OR
    An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field


    AND


    four (4) years of information systems experience managing projects at the advanced level for multiple medium to large-sized projects or systems.

    OR
    A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field


    AND


    two (2) years of information systems experience managing projects at the advanced level for multiple medium to large-sized projects or systems.

    OR
    Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

    Demonstrated experience organizing and leading multiple concurrent complex information technology (IT) projects that resulted in the implementation of a new system or new system functionality.


    Able to elicit information from multiple team members to decompose critical project activities into a work breakdown structure using Microsoft Project or similar project planning tools.


    Strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g., emails, status reports, project documentation), including the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to internal and external partners using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.

    PMP certification preferred.

    PROSCI or similar change management credential preferred.

    Experienced using Agile and/or Scrum methodology.
