Transit Bus Driver - Commerce

The Transit Bus Driver is responsible for driving the East Texas A&M University transit routes as scheduled and providing customer service by assisting passengers with questions on routes etc. As a proud member of the third-largest institution in The Texas A&M University System, ETAMU fosters a strong professional environment that supports career growth and academic excellence. Responsibilities
- Drives ETAMU transit routes as scheduled Commerce and Dallas locations Operates assigned equipment in a safe manner and in adherence to all University and Transit policies as well as local state and federal laws
- Assists managers supervisors in the training of new drivers by teaching demonstrating driving techniques evaluating providing feedback to drivers providing follow-up re-training necessary Conducting proper pre post trip vehicle inspection noting any discrepancies at beginning ending shift Reports any potentially hazardous vehicle maintenance safety issues immediately Supervisor Enters time worked reads responds e-mail requests leave reviews information department intranet Maintains cleans equipment assigned during shift
