    As a Business Intelligence Analyst

    • Contribute to safeguarding the nation's Research & Engineering (R&E) technology ecosystem.
    • Serve as an integrator of intelligence products to inform next steps and key operations of DoD's partner organizations.
    • Be on the cutting edge of breakthrough technology for novel or sustained military systems.
    • Collaborate across multiple interagency teams to fortify America's approach to safeguarding science and next generation technology.
    • Crosswalk adversary technology status with our nation's current research cadence and progress.
    • Develop Business Intelligence products in a fast-paced team environment.
    • Develop and implement proactive analytic tools supporting the protection of DoD investments in technology development, including biotechnology.
    • Evaluate data sets to identify potential security vulnerabilities within the DoD Research and Engineering ecosystem.

    A week in the life of a Business Intelligence Analyst:

    • Interface daily with government sponsors.
    • Post on-site with an interdisciplinary team of experts that collectively implement and recommend security features for the nation's most pertinent technology.
    • Conduct in-depth technical and security reviews through literature research and data assessments.
    • Devise new approaches, schema and messaging around technology protection and potential for exploitation.
    • Access secure networks to synchronize the government's approach to technology protection and sharing practices.
    • Synthesize risk managing and educational material for intelligence, security, academia and government personnel on key data and technology.
    • Lead development of complex gap analyses and risk matrices for high value dual use or military technologies.
    • Interface directly with government customers.
    • Coordinate activities with other government teams and appropriate organizations to produce finished integrated products.
    • Evaluate complex data sets and query databases to identify issues.
    • Develop deliverables focused on protection of S&T investment in Biotech Technology.
    • Perform other assigned tasks to ensure US technology development stays ahead of our potential adversaries.
    • Conduct research and analysis of the relationships between DoD and commercial industry and DoD-funded academia on matters pertaining to critical technology as well as provide business insight and financial analysis.
    • Analysts must be able to produce integrated products involving:
    • Provide information on the company's annual revenues (either of the exporter, sub or parent company), annual global sales, regional market breakdown of global sales (e.g., Europe, Asia-Pacific), export volumes, and annual R&D investments.
    • Map contractual relationships between companies to see how hardware and Critical Technical Information (CTI) enables the production of DoD critical components.
    • Identify comparable technology development being conducted by foreign companies.
    • Provide financial information on U.S. companies that apply for Department of Commerce licenses to export, re-export, or transfer commodities, software, or technology to foreign parties.

    Job Requirements
    • BS Degree required in a technology or intelligence field.
    • Secret Clearance required (TS/SCI eligible).
    • 10 years of relevant experience.
    • Proclivity for literature research and data evaluation.
    • Strong oral and written skills.
    • Strong team orientation.
    • Ability to be on-site for classified work and meetings.
    • Proactive and organized.
    • Experience with Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes.
    • Experience in DoD systems development and evaluation, acquisition policy and process.

    AMERICAN SYSTEMSis committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $125K - $155K.
