JOB SUMMARY:The Summer Internship I position is designed to provide first hand experience working in a school/community facility environment assisting teachers and counselors to deliver academic and social development services to youth. Interns perform all responsibilities of a teacher assistant and other duties as assigned by CMMSI Director.
JOB DUTIES:50% - Essential - Assist classroom teachers with delivery of literacy instruction.
20% - Essential - Monitor and assist campers during Friday field trips.
20% - Essential - Assists related arts teachers with implementation of iPlay activities.
10% - Essential - Escort students to/from cafeteria; monitor students during lunch period. Assist with daily arrival and dismissal of campers.
Education - Enrollment in an approved Teacher Education Program such as Elementary Education; Early Childhood Education; Middle Level Education; Secondary Education; Special Education; Music Education; or Art Education.
Experience - 1+ years of experience in Call Me MiSTER.
RESPONSIBILITIESJOB KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

10% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period
25% - Walk or move about

No Work Conditions
WORK SCHEDULE:Standard Hrs: 37.5
COMPENSATION INFORMATIONAnticipated Hourly Rate: $16.50.
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVELNormal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
