    Bluebird Hunter Lodge is an exquisite retreat nestled in the Catskill Mountains, recently refurbished to offer a unique experience. With 42 distinctive rooms and 2 cozy chalets, guests can either relax in serenity or explore the wonders of the Catskills. The Operations Manager plays a crucial role in promptly addressing guest issues and serving as the face of the hotel, fostering connections with our guests. This role involves active daily participation across the property to ensure a seamless guest experience. Working collaboratively within a team, the Operations Manager is dedicated to providing exceptional, friendly, and efficient service while optimizing room revenue and occupancy levels and prioritizing guest and employee satisfaction. Key responsibilities include overseeing the Front Desk, Billing, and ensuring consistency in the property management system through training and audits, as well as managing the Food and Beverage program.

    Compensation:

    $48,000 - $52,000 yearly

    Responsibilities:

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America
    • Prior experience in food & beverage service is necessary; including 3 plus years management experience as a restaurant FOH/BOH supervisor. A diploma or degree in business management, culinary arts, or hospitality management would be a plus
    • 5.5-day work week in season, 50-60 hours a week in the season, 4 nights per week managing the floor. The schedule varies according to operational needs; but may regularly include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts
    • Must be at least 21 years of age
    • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy
    • Must enjoy working with the public, and have a strong appreciation for the guests' experience
    • Knowledge of fine, casual, and banquet dining styles, proper food and beverage service, basic cooking techniques, current health codes, and liquor laws. Must be willing to learn the skill set of back-of-house employees
    • Tips certified and Serve-Safe certified
    • Should be well-spoken, have a can-do attitude, be a quick learner, and have hands-on accountability
    • Ability to work as a part of a team
    • Ability to understand verbal directions, menu details, labels on chemicals, and other workplace safety signage
    • Active listening and observation skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and deal with deadlines, and stressful situations during busy periods

    Abilities Required:

    • Frequent walking, bending, balancing, stooping, reaching, pushing, lifting, manual dexterity, and repetitive motions. May require the ability to work on uneven outdoor surfaces, move and arrange chairs, tables, and banquet equipment
    • Must be vertically mobile working in limited space for 8 hours at a time
    • Manually handle/lift/carry product up to 50 pounds between knee and shoulders
    • Must have bilateral fine manipulation of both hands which may be repetitive for an entire shift
    • Occasional stair climbing
    • Working in varying temperatures and conditions both indoors and out
    • Frequent hand-washing
    Qualifications:
    • The Operations Manager must have eligibility to work in the United States of America
    • Candidates applying for the position need to be at least 18 years old
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effectively conveying information
    • Proficiency in working within a Mac environment is a mandatory requirement
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with acute attention to detail, are essential
    • Experience with Clock or a similar Property Management System is highly preferred
    • Strong analytical skills are a necessity for this role
    • Collaborating effectively with colleagues and guests is a key aspect of the position
    • The ability to both take and give direction effectively is important
    • Ideal candidates should be neat, courteous, flexible, and extremely detail-oriented
    • Interacting with the public gracefully is a quality expected from the ideal candidate
    • Remaining calm, courteous, and professional, especially in challenging situations, is a must
    • Demonstrated initiative in job performance, including proactive task management, is required
    • A proven track record of meeting deadlines is essential
    • Being a team player who is flexible and willing to support the property and Lark Hotel goals is crucial
    • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on guest demand, is required
    • A minimum of 2-3 plus years of experience in the hotel division and Food and Beverage program with increasing responsibilities is mandatory
    • Availability to work nights and weekends is a fundamental requirement for this position
