    **POSITION PURPOSE**

    The pantry attendant position exists, as a part of the Dining Services team, to ensure a quality experience for the residents when ordering meals or making a purchase from the Pantry. The attendant is responsible for taking residents to go meal orders and assisting with purchases from the Pantry. In addition, the pantry attendant provides assistance to servers and cooks, as needed, to ensure Golden West is providing a level of service that meets or exceeds the residents expectations.

    **REQUIREMENTS**

    Must display a positive attitude and take and follow direction well.

    Must be able to work independently

    Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English

    Must be able to lift 50-60 lbs., push pull up to 100 lbs.

    Must be able to stand and walk for at least 60 minutes at a time and bend, twist, turn and kneel as needed to complete accountabilities.

    Must have arm, hand, wrist and finger dexterity and strength needed to complete accountabilities, such as reaching up and out with arms, grasping with hands/fingers and wrist twisting/turning.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    1. Work as a productive member of the Dining Services team, maintaining a positive, courteous, helpful and professional attitude towards all customers, including but not limited to residents, family members and guests, staff, vendors and all other individuals encountered while representing Golden West.

    2. Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Clock in and out according to scheduled shift times, using the time clock to record all time and in compliance with all time and attendance policies and procedures.

    3. Be in uniform, appropriately groomed and prepared to begin work by the scheduled start time of each shift.

    4. Be familiar with and follow all safety rules and procedures.

    5. Regularly attend all staff and department meetings, in-services and trainings. Complete and submit all related documentation (sign in sheet, acknowledgements, tests/quizzes, etc.).

    6. Work as a team with all scheduled staff to complete the following tasks necessary to provide a quality dining experience for the residents as per department procedures, scheduled times and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations:

    a. Enter orders and sales into the POS system

    b. Pull and prep items according to production sheets and menus, or as directed by supervisor

    c. Prepare pastries and other goods to be sold during pantry hours

    d. Assist with the preparation of meals, special functions/events and caterings according to established menus and schedules or as directed by supervisor.

    e. Maintain appropriate documentation of food and equipment temperatures throughout all food preparation processes

    f. Maintain communication with production team members to ensure appropriate amounts of product are available to meet customer expectations.

    g. Prepare grab & go and retail (Outtakes) items as needed or as directed by supervisor

    h. Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment and storage areas in compliance with the master cleaning schedule and State and County food service regulations.

    i. Complete all cleaning duties as assigned throughout the dining room

    j. Assist other team members as needed or directed by supervisor

    k. Checkout with supervisor at the end of each shift, prior to clocking out

    7. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
