Maintenance Technician II – $27.40–$36/hr | 6-Month Contract | M–F 7:00 AM–3:30 PM | Richmond, CATwo Openings Available

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to support a chemical manufacturing facility producing advanced life science materials including chromatography resins, liquid buffers, monomer solutions, oils, and other specialty products.
This role sits within a multidisciplinary Manufacturing Science & Technology team focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.If you enjoy solving mechanical and automation challenges while contributing to products that support scientific advancement, this role offers both technical depth and meaningful impact.
What You'll DoPerform preventative maintenance and complex troubleshooting on production equipment
Conduct production setup of manufacturing equipment
Assist with equipment installation and startup under engineering direction
Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications
Support engineering initiatives, parts qualification, and process evaluations
Contribute to Continuous Improvement and First Pass Yield initiatives
Document work activities in CMMS systems
Make proactive recommendations to enhance preventative maintenance programs
Provide basic guidance or training to lower-level technicians when needed
Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to maintain infrastructure reliability

What You Bring
High school diploma, trade school certification, GED, or equivalent
2+ years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical, and automated systems
Advanced knowledge in at least one skilled craft area
Proficiency with tools and diagnostic equipment
Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
Experience working with CMMS systems
Working knowledge of PC systems and MS Office
Ability to prioritize work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Strong communication skills and a solutions-oriented mindset
Required licensure if applicable
