Accordingly, we seek an outstanding faculty member as an Assistant Tenure-Track Professor to join the school and Rutgers program faculty in the CACREP Accredited School Counseling Program.

    The Program in School Counseling is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology at the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The CACREP Accredited Program in School Counseling prepares school counseling professionals and is committed to preparing a diverse population of school counseling professionals who are highly skilled, reflective, and culturally responsive to the diverse needs of youth in grades Pre-K through 12, their families, and the schools that they attend.

    Major Responsibilities: The scholar filling this position will conduct a research and publication agenda related to school counseling and counselor education that advances Rutgers Graduate School of Education's pursuit of advancing excellence and equity in education; demonstrate scholarly productivity by publishing in peer- reviewed journals, secure externally funded research support, present at national and international scholarly conferences; participate in program development and innovation; develop and teach courses and provide effective mentorship of students in the Schooling Counseling program; and demonstrate a commitment to participate in faculty governance.

    Qualifications
    Minimum Education and Experience
    Successful candidates for this position must possess an earned doctorate from an accredited major research university in a CACREP accredited Counselor Education Program with a specialty in School Counseling or a closely related CACREP approved counseling area required to work in and support a Counselor Education Program. Additionally, the successful candidate must possess one of the following NJ School Counselor Certifications or eligibility: New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or license eligibility in New Jersey or holds a NJ School Counselor Standard Certificate or eligibility to be a Qualified or Approved Supervisor.
    We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong background in school counseling and working with students in urban school and community settings, as well as a focus on social justice, equity, and inclusion in education; evidence of a developing research agenda addressing
    pertinent issues in school counseling and/or training and supervision of counseling students; a focus on aspects of diversity, urban education, social justice, and serving underserved communities is preferred; a record of teaching counseling skills and clinical courses and commitment to multicultural and social justice principles throughout course work; and demonstration of counselor education identity by membership in national and regional counselor education/school counselor professional organizations.
