    Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at Yale New Haven Health.

    About the Role: As a CRNA, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care by collaborating with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians in administering anesthesia for various medical and surgical procedures.

    Schedule Requirements:

    • Availability to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays is essential as part of the in-house call team.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Clinical Care: Implement accurate and safe patient-centric anesthetic care.
    2. Professional Skill: Understand the physiological implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures while monitoring vital signs and ensuring compliance with ASA guidelines.
    3. Information Management: Maintain appropriate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards, safeguarding information from any unauthorized access.
    4. Quality Management: Uphold high standards of moral and ethical behavior with a commitment to professionalism and compassionate patient care.
    5. Professional Development: Engage continuously in projects to maintain and enhance your professional competency.

    Qualifications:

    1. Education: Completion of a Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program from an accredited institution and current Connecticut Nursing and APRN licensure.
    2. Experience: Clinical experience as a CRNA is preferred but not mandatory. Appointment to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital requires evidence of current competence to practice as verified through reference letters from medical professionals.
    3. Licensure: Must hold AANA Certification, a valid CT RN and APRN License, ACLS certification, DEA Registration, and State of CT Controlled Substance Registration.
    4. Special Skills: CRNAs should possess strong focus, resilience under stress, excellent communication skills, and a calming demeanor to inspire confidence in patients and surgical teams.
    5. Physical Demands: Ability to demonstrate intellectual, observational, and communication skills; physical endurance for long hours; and the ability to lift and move patients as needed. Emotional health and adaptability to pressures in clinical settings are essential.
