    Essential Functions:

    Facilitate patient flowAssist the doctor in preliminary testingVerify medical and vision insurancesEffectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managersAnswer inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requestsAn Optometric Technician is a valuable asset to an optometrist as they assist in providing a world class Total Patient Experience.

    This employee is able to handle a wide range of duties while using optical equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an optometrist.


    Responsibilities:
    80%Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical supportDisplay a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leaveComply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAAPractice urgency at all times with patient's time, as well as doctor's time and scheduleOperate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCTFollow scripting for testing equipment (photos, visual fields, visual activity, etc.)

    Clean all examination equipment including tonometer tipSet phoropter to patient RX or re-set to plano (per doctor's request)Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all time20%Assist with other Duties as the Office is NeededGeneral office duties and cleaning to be assigned by managerDesire to gain industry knowledge and trainingDemonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goalsConsistently creating a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focusedOther Skills and Abilities:
    Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal noticeAbility to work weekends when applicableCommitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business

    Requirements:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceBasic computer skillsAbility to read, analyze and interpret informationFavorable result on Background CheckMust have own vehicle and be insured, licensed driver in current state of residencePreferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
