    SummaryThe Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for the Manufacturing Engineering Function.

    This role will be expected to plan, direct and improve the manufacturing process for optimal and efficient production operation and use of company assets.

    ResponsibilitiesDirects the activities of the ME group in the development of production documentation, methods, tooling and equipment requirements, make/buy decisions, and MEC projects.

    Optimize the facilities layout.
    Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and processes.

    Applies lean techniques, directs and assists employees in the use of these techniques and tools to reduce waste and improve overall productivity.

    Analyze capital requirements and submit recommendations for the Capital Plan. Monitor capital Plan and submit capital expenditure requests assigned. Implement capital projects in accordance with company budget and strategy.

    Works with other managers and supervisors to ensure program schedules are met, problems are addressed, and process improvements are implemented.

    Establish departmental policy and procedures and create or modify work instructions in accordance with the QMS.Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

    Recommend product design changes to improve manufacturability and improve quality.

    Supports purchasing with suppliers to assist in solving issues, determine product specifications, arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

    Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
    Advises management of needs in areas of control.

    Required QualificationsBS degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Manufacturing TechnologyMINIMUM 10 years' experience in a related industry AND2 years in a supervisory capacity.

    Formal training in lean manufacturingWorking knowledge of manufacturing methods in a machining and an assembling environment.
    Knowledge of quality systems in an ISO9001 environment.
