    The Peer Support Specialist provides flexible, community-based peer support services that are designed to promote the recovery, empowerment, and community integration of pregnant and parenting persons experiencing substance use disorder. Peer Support Specialists provide education and support to facilitate the individual's recovery and promote the knowledge of available services and the utilization of resources in the community to develop a sense of wellness and self-worth.

    Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

    Required qualifications:
    • upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
    • within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Credentialed as a Certified Peer Specialist.
    • 2 years In recovery for a minimum of 2 years.
