Job summary
The Arborist & Equipment Operator is responsible for many aspects of day-to-day land management essential to public safety within the 15,000 acres of the Milwaukee County Parks.The position involves planting, removing and maintaining trees throughout the parks system. Additionally it includes performing installation repairs and maintenance of parks infrastructure including footbridges storm water laterals catch basins golf course drainage benches rough finish grading establishing turf and hardscapes repairing maintaining hard surfaces which include roads parkways parking lots paths trails walks inspecting maintaining operating equipment including skid steers tractors front end loaders vehicle trailers small to CDL Class A specialty equipment lift trucks tree spades backhoe excavators snow ice removal supervising seasonal crews plant health care planting hedging playgrounds daily staff vehicle assignments reporting status updates providing cyclical maintenance accumulated debris from hard surfaces catch basins utilizing specialized equipment VacAll Street Sweeper lane miles parkways roads parking lots assisting natural areas staff heavy equipment operations need trained personnel performing other duties assigned.
