    ABOUT THE JOB TITLE AND COMPANY:

    The Regional Sales Manager position at Avient is a leadership role overseeing a team of 5-7 sales professionals and technical staff. This role involves selling across all management levels, establishing strong relationships to ensure Avient remains at the forefront of consideration for projects.

    The ideal candidate is a global thought leader who excels in customer-centric selling approaches and effectively communicates the value of products and services. Problem-solving skills, enthusiasm, and professionalism are key attributes for this position, along with the ability to influence individuals at various organizational levels.

    This role requires up to 75% travel and is ideally located in Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, or neighboring states.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Deliver profitable revenue growth, focusing on robust new business development.
    • Achieve specified gross margin targets as a percentage of sales.
    • Approach the sales process professionally, utilizing customer-centric selling skills and tools effectively.
    • Drive year-over-year growth in Operating Income and Sales for the Region.
    • Create a motivating environment where a highly engaged team of Sales professionals can thrive.
    • Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports to enhance team performance.
    • Foster strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and internal contacts.
    • Demonstrate business acumen in managing a P&L to ensure profitability.
    • Develop short- and long-term sales forecasts, business plans, and strategies.
    • Analyze market share and provide recommendations for its enhancement.
    • Stay informed about technology advancements, material developments, and market conditions.
    • Participate in Commercial Leadership team meetings and regional projects.

    Scope:
    • Personnel: May lead a team of 4-6 sales professionals.
    • Budget: Manage a budget exceeding $25,000,000.
    • Sales Revenue: Focus on Southeast Region for Color and Additives.

    Other:
    • Typically reports to Director of Sales or equivalent.
