    Job Summary

    Our accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team with the possibility of a flexible hybrid work arrangement after an initial period.

    The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of tax preparation experience, with a dedication to accuracy and client service.

    The Tax Preparer will not only execute tax filing tasks but also have opportunities for learning and career advancement within the firm.

    Key Responsibilities

    Tax Preparation and Filing:
    Accurately prepare and file individual and business tax returns following federal and state regulations.

    Client Service:
    Deliver exceptional customer service, address client inquiries, and articulate intricate tax issues in understandable terms.

    Tax Research:
    Conduct thorough research on challenging tax matters, ensuring compliance and effective resolutions.

    Record Keeping:
    Uphold client privacy, securely managing information, and meticulously documenting tax preparation activities.

    Compliance:
    Remain informed on tax legislation, pursuing continuing education as necessary to ensure adherence to all laws.

    Consulting:
    Offer advice on tax planning and financial decisions that may impact the client's tax situation.

    Accounting:
    Offer clients assistance with bookkeeping and accounting, whether for monthly management purposes, or for preparing tax returns.

    Qualifications

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) credentials are advantageous.

    Experience:
    A minimum of 2-3 years in tax preparation.


    Skills:


    • Proficiency in Lacerte and/or UltraTax and the Microsoft Office suite.
    • Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Capacity to manage pressure and meet strict deadlines.
    Additional Requirements

    • Comprehensive knowledge of tax codes at multiple levels (federal, state, local).
    • Commitment to handling sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
