Accounting Manager - Boston, United States - Watermill Express

The Accounting Manager will handle the day-to-day duties of a typical accounting department including general ledger, cost accounting, cash management accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, sales records, fixed asset accounting, financial reporting, income taxes and auditing support.
This individual can complete tasks independently while also being able to work as a team member while completing accounting department duties requiring full staff participation.

Starting salary begins at $85k per year
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in month and year-end close procedures
Assist in monthly financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis
Assist in year-end audit and tax planning and preparation
Assist in lease accounting and reporting requirements
Reconcile various balance sheet accounts along supporting evidence for management's estimates
Reconcile inventory, work-in-process monthly
Prepare and report on the Company's construction projects from permitting to final billing
Perform and reconcile inventory cycle counts and year-end inventory counts
Prepare and report monthly and quarterly state and local sales and use tax
Assist in maintaining property tax records for various counties
Complete franchise accounting on a monthly basis
Oversee the Company's credit card program
Assist in preparing and/or reviewing payroll and payroll related benefits
Assist in fleet management when necessary
Participate in monthly operations financial review meetings and provide research as appropriate.
Train and supervise various positions within the accounting department
Assist in the Company in an upcoming ERP conversion
Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive accounting experience including general ledger, accounts payable, inventory and cash management
Detail oriented, organized and excellent communication skills
Excellent excel and computer skills
Ability to work independently and meet time deadlines
Education, Experience and Certificate:
Four-year degree in accounting or related field
CPA or graduate degree a plus, but not required
Public accounting experience is a plus, but not required, depending on experience
Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience
