    Description

    Fenner Dunlop is looking for an Assistant Diagnostics Engineer to join our Diagnostics and Support Services team in Bluefield, Virginia. This position supports in the manufacture, improvement, and testing of conveyor diagnostic products and services. This role aims to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and encourage continuous improvement and innovation of conveyor diagnostic processes and Bluefield Support Services while interacting with FDA customers to apply technology for value-added solutions. This position reports directly to the Senior Diagnostics Engineer.

For over 150 years, Fenner Dunlop has researched, designed, developed, manufactured, and tested its conveyor belting products, supporting nearly any type of conveyor application, and providing the right solutions to protect conveyor system investments in the harshest conveying environments.

    What You'll Do

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Coordinate with others to assist in manufacture, improvement, and testing of conveyor diagnostic products and services.
    • Utilize NDT and diagnostic equipment in an industrial/mining environment for analysis and comprehensive reporting.
    • Evaluate specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
    • Prepare and maintain technical documentation of diagnostic systems to ensure conformity to standards and customer requirements.
    • Provide installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support of diagnostics equipment in an industrial/mining environment.
    • Conduct technical training on conveyor diagnostic equipment to internal personnel and end users.
    • Ensure that all work complies with the appropriate legislation, risk assessed, and safe.
    • As appropriate, solicit new business and provide sales leads to appropriate department(s).
    • Work safely at all times, and ensures that those around you do the same, both internally and externally, ensuring a strong safety culture throughout the workforce.
    Additional Responsibilities
    • Bluefield Support Services
    • Packaging and preparation of shipping documentation for all hazardous materials in accordance to all regulatory requirements (Air, Sea, and Ground).
    • Receive incoming raw materials and other supplies.
    • Production as required including manufacture of splice kits, inductive loops, and RFID to achieve targets and maintain inventory levels.
    • Train new and existing support personnel as required for various job requirements.
    • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and/or holidays
    • Routinely stand, squat, and/or work in confined spaces
    • Exposure to hazards
    • Work in varying atmospheric and physical conditions
    • Travel 10-25% to company and conference locations located throughout North America, including overnight travel.
    • Professional behavior is expected during working hours, when traveling for business, while on company/customer sites and at any/all times when representing the company.
    • Must possess valid driver's license and passport.
    • Perform other duties as requested by Management.
    What You'll Need

    Required Education & Experience
    • Education: Bachelor's of Science degree in relevant technical field or be evaluated for equivalence.
    • Experience: 0 to 1 years in relevant technical field
    Preferred Education & Experience
    • Education: Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
    • Experience: 1 to 3 years in Mining, Conveyor, NDT, or Electrical Industry
    • AutoCad experience
    • Rockwell Software including RSLogix 5000 and Factory Talk
    • C# Programming experience
    • MSHA certifications
