    Description
    Mid Level Civil/Structural Line Engineer


    POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Mid Level Transmission Line Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department remotely from the Columbus, OH/Midwest Region.

    This position is based in our Ann Arbor, MI office with the ability to work remotely based on a mutually acceptable location in our Midwest Region.

    Roles and Responsibilities
    Prepare and review engineering deliverables in support of overhead transmission line projects:

    PLS-CADD model
    PLS-POLE models
    Project design criteria
    Steel pole loading calculations and drawings
    Engineering drawings and specifications
    Foundation designs and drawings
    Bill of materials

    Provide mentorship and guidance to others. Perform detailed engineering reviews of the work submitted by others
    Coordinate regularly with the Project Engineer to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are met
    Required Education/Experience

    Civil (BSCE)degree,from an accredited university
    Experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, conductor, OHGW and OPGWselection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, foundation design and analysis, procurement specification development and development of construction bid packages
    PLS-CADD / PLS-POLE experience
    Foundation design experience using industry software (RISA, L-PILE, FAD etc.)
    Two (2) or more years' experience in transmission line design as outlined above
    Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is required
    The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to communicate effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
    Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
    Desired Education/Experience

    Professional Engineering license (PE) strongly preferred
    Masters Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering a plus
    Distribution/underbuild design experience is a plus
    Managerial and leadership skills a plus

    Salary


    DOE:

    The pay range for this position is $65-95K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

    This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
