Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Automotive Service Writer to join our fast-paced team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary communicator between customers and our service technicians, ensuring a seamless flow of information and exceptional customer experience. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and service estimation will help drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive service management, sales, and delivering top-tier customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs.
- Prepare accurate and detailed auto service estimates using auto estimating software, ensuring transparency with customers.
- Write clear, comprehensive service orders that include all necessary repairs, maintenance, and recommended services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, transmission repairs, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts.
- Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer concerns and facilitate efficient diagnostics using automotive diagnostics tools.
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle inspection findings while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments securely.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business through excellent customer service.
- Maintain organized records of all service transactions, estimates, and repair orders for reporting and follow-up purposes.
Qualifications
- Previous dealership experience or auto service management background is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and vehicle maintenance.
- Proven ability in auto estimating, upselling services, and understanding automotive repair processes including transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts.
- Service technician experience or mechanic background is a plus for better understanding of technical issues.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
