    Lab Technician Qualifications

    Minimum 1 year of experience as a Hospital Lab Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician

    Associate's degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Science or related field

    Registered as a Medical Technician (ASCP) or equivalent certification

    Meets New York State Department of Health requirements

    Current New York State Clinical Lab Technician license

    Background in clinical chemistry and hematology

    Experience with blood bank procedures and clinical support

    Lab Technician Responsibilities

    Perform laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, and blood bank units

    Analyze clinical samples and report accurate results promptly

    Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control standards

    Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care in a hospital setting

    Follow all safety, regulatory, and laboratory protocols

    Adapt to a flexible schedule, including both day and evening shifts
