GENERAL INFORMATION

 Substitute Teacher for Chemistry

 This is an on-call position

 The teacher instructs students in Grades 5-12 in accordance with the following provisions:

-school curriculum

-curricula according to provisions by the German International Abitur Exam (Deutschen Internationale Abiturprüfung)

DESCRIPTION Duties include:

 Individual and small-group instruction, adapting the curriculum to the needs of students with varying abilities.

 Compliance with all guidelines and rules; working with other German Schools Abroad.

 Preparation, administration and grading of tests, exams, and assignments to evaluate students' progress. Preparation of lessons and materials for class activities.

 Creation and management of accurate and complete student records as required by laws and administrative regulations.

 Enforcement of all policies and rules governing students; maintaining appropriate discipline.

 Observation and evaluation of student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.

 Meetings to confer with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and to offer guidance for their development.

REQUIREMENTS

 Fluency in English, both verbal and written

 Fluency in German, both verbal and written, preferred

 First German State Examination or comparable degree

 Second German State Examination or comparable degree, preferred

 Teaching experience in grades 5-12 highly preferred

 Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer
