We are hiring for our Restaurant Hospitality Team; Host, Food Runners, Bussers, and Backservers
Be a part of a creative and ambitious, family-run farm-to-table restaurant Summer Salt is located on the beach in Avalon, New Jersey. We are open seasonally from mid-May to mid-September. Please note, this is a SEASONAL POSITION only.
Summer Salt is a BYOB farm-to-table dinner restaurant. We are reservation-only and serve a four-course tasting menu designed to showcase Cape May County land and sea. We are technically "fine dining" but our ambiance and service-style is friendly, not stuffy. We are refined, but not pretentious. Ingredients are sourced daily from farms and fishers; and our guests are welcomed warmly like friends and family.
A typical shift is 4:30pm-9:30pm. On somedays you may be asked to start later, between 5:00-6:00. We offer Part-Time positions (2-3 shifts per week) or Full-Time positions (4-6 shifts per week). Time-off is available and we can offer a consistent, reoccurring schedule or a rotating, flexible schedule - whichever you prefer. During peak-times likes MDW and LDW, we may ask for extra shifts and hours.
Pay ranges from $17-$21/hour depending on your skill set, experience and performance.
For Host, Food Runner, and Busser roles - you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure. Ultimately, you'll ensure we provide excellent customer service and a pleasant dining experience to our guests. Ideal candidates are energetic, team-oriented, and excited to be part of a collaborative, high-hospitality environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred but not required
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
Must be a self-motivator and motivator of others.
Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
Must be able to relate to all levels of guests and management.
Must be able to consistently delight and satisfy our guests.
