    OverviewManages critical Accounting Services Departments to achieve efficiencies in workflow and processes while developing personnel through training, goal setting and consistent feedback.

    Oversees and coordinates the accounting accuracy of all materials and supplies for plant operations, daily production reporting, purchasing activity, and product pricing.

    Monitors daily activities of the accounting department.

    ResponsibilitiesOversees the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable through leadership of staff, guidance for process development & improvement and management of the departments supervisors and other direct reports.

    Oversees daily, weekly, and monthly inventory transaction reports for the plant.
    Supports the overall achievement of each departments objectives and annual goals.

    Provides developmental guidance for departmental supervisors and other direct reports through the establishment and maintenance of goals and pursuit of competency progress.

    Assists department supervisors with the resolution of questions and issues.
    Collaborates with other company departments.

    Assists in the implementation and training of the software used for corporate transactional accounting systems; focusing on opportunities to streamline and enhance current processes.

    Prepares accounting entries, monthly reporting, and month end reconciliations.
    Reviews monthly general ledger activity for trade spending accounts.
    Assists the accounting department with system software issues/questions.
    Approves department expenses as needed.
    Coordinates audit processes and follow-up procedures with internal and external auditors.
    Compiles and submits information for all required department/corporate monthly, quarterly and annual reports and meetings.

    Perform assigned SOX duties in timely and effective manner; take appropriate actions should performance of assigned SOX duties identify ineffectiveness/non-compliance in addressing the risk the control was intended to address.

    QualificationsBA/BS degree in accounting.5-10 years prior work experience in Accounting Services and/or Manufacturing Accounting, preferably in the Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry.

    Working knowledge of accounting/inventory systems, manufacturing processes, Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
    Previous leadership/supervisory experienceStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office; strong pivot table knowledge.
    Prior experience with SAP preferred.
    Prior experience with JD Edwards, Prism software, and AS400 preferred.
