    Description

    We are seeking experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurses (RNs) for an immediate travel nurse opportunity in Morgantown, WV. The ideal candidate will possess 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.

    Job Summary

    As a MedSurg RN, you will be responsible for conducting patient assessments and prioritizing data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. This includes performing ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician, documenting patient findings, and providing education and support to patients' families.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
    • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
    • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
    • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
    • Educate patients on surgical procedures.
    • Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.

    Requirements

    To succeed in this role, you should be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. You should also be able to easily lift 20 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds required. You will work in a fast-paced environment treating patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

    Essential Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH

    Minimum Experience: 2 Years
