- Provides leadership in managing/coordinating care for patients, assuming responsibility and accountability for actions.
- Completes initial assessments and reassessments of patient's condition and response to treatment and other clinical findings. Initiates follow-up as needed and documents using clear, concise, and objective data.
- Investigates complex patient care problems and promptly seeks consultation and solution(s).
- Develops and implements a plan of care to meet individual patient or population specific needs, including self-care and treatment measures. Modifies approach based on knowledge of human behavior, motivations, and reactions to situations.
- Initiates and/or recommends laboratory tests, diagnostic studies and/or specialty referrals based on protocols, clinical practice guidelines and/or standards of care.
- Prescribes and/or recommends laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and/or medications based on current medical center, VHA, and DEA policy and within scope of practice. Work Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday, but shift may change to meet operation needs of the service.

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
