We are looking for a mainframe developer having exp in Cobol and Vas7

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in VAS7 and COBOL development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and supporting enterprise-level mainframe applications in a high-volume transactional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and VAS7
• Perform enhancements and production support for legacy systems
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Work with JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, and batch processing environments
• Debug and resolve production issues, ensuring system stability and performance
• Participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts and QA teams
• Support data migration, system upgrades, and modernization initiatives
• Ensure compliance with coding standards, security policies, and documentation requirements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe development
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL and VAS7
• Experience with JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS
• Experience in batch and online processing systems
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with version control and change management tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance domains
• Exposure to mainframe modernization initiatives
• Knowledge of Agile methodology
• Experience with performance tuning and system optimization

Technical Skills

• Languages: COBOL, JCL
• Platforms: IBM Mainframe
• Databases: DB2, VSAM
• Tools: CICS, File-Aid, Endevor (or similar SCM tools)
